MS help could not even gain access to my PC. MS forums say that there's going to be a fix.for what?. Looks like one of those undefined problems. I have Outlook 2016 working with BT Mail with SSL enabled on both POP3 and SMTP. I personally think this is something Microsoft need to fix.
No SSL so technically less secure, but it does work. You will most likely find that setting the outgoing port to 25 ( In Outlook - Flie, Account, Account Settiungs, Change, More settings, Advanced) will solve this. Their support is usually good as it's an application which is on subscription. It now transpires that Microsoft are aware of a problem with pop3, due to a recent update. I Have those settings, but it's only the Windows 10 Office 365 which is giving problems. Other than that it's going to be a complete reinstall of the account or more likely, Outlook itself.
